To Manage Ira B. Jones's
Campaign.
J. William Thurmond, of Edgefield,
has been selected by Ira B. Jones as
manager of his campaign in the race
for the governorship. Mr. Thurmond
is well acquainted throughout South
Carolina and has many friends. He is
a well known attorney. He served in
the house of representatives with Mr.
Jones. He afterwards served for sev
eral terms as solicitor of the Fift? circuit.
Mr. Jones ha9 opened campaign
headquarters in the Berkeley building
on Washington street, and has gone
to work in earnest for the office of governor.
He resigned a9 chief justice of
the supreme court on January 9. Daring
the next several months Mr. Jones
will visit several portions of the
State.
