Election Results.
Much interest was felt in last Tuesday's
election in se veral states for the
re asoo that the results were supposed
to forecast in some degree what the
presidential chances of 1912 woul be.
In Massachusetts Eugene Foss, Democrat,
was reelected governor, but
by a majority smaller by 12,000 than
that of two years ago.
Rhode Island remains Republican.
New York elected a Republican majority
in the state legislature of about
30. In New York city Tammany candidates
were elected, but by reduced
majorities.

as a matter of course.
In New Mexico?its first state election?a
