Mrs. L. I. Kaminer, proprietress of the City Hotel, Columbia, has purchased "Hotel Patton,'' Ashrille, N. C. Mrs. Kaminer's daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Garrett, are in charge and are making quite a success in Asheviile. Mrs. T. S. Brown, Miss Jennie Bass Brown and Miss Carro Efird attended the me ting of the Woman's Home and Foreign Mission Society of tl:e South Carolina Lutheran Synod in Orangeburg this week. W. Livingston, the husband of the plaintiff, by the Southern's passenger train about a mile below Bates iurg, in Saluda county, on tne morning o* the 3rd of Ajv 1, 1909. The plaintiff concluded its testimony in the main yesterday afternoon. An array of legal giants is engaged in the case. Appearing for the plaintiff are Messrs. Efird & Dreher, Coi. George Bell Timmerman, J. William Thurmond of Edgefield and T. C. Callison. The defendant is represented by Col. George Johnstone, of Kew berry, division counsel of the South ern and one of the irxnt brilliant law yers of the South; Ex-Senator W. H. Sharpe and Col. J. Brooks Wingard. Corn Gro wers To Meet.
