! A Cure For Gloomy Days.
j When days are dark and gloomy,
! And things seem all askew,
| Ju8D manufacture sunshine;
Just think of skies all blue,
! Just think of all things cheerful,
And sing a happy song

To help the day along.
I Make those about you cheerful

i The clouds can't last forever,

Deafness Cannot be Cured
by local applications, as they cannot
reach the diseased portion of the ear.
There is only one way to cure deafness,
and that is by constitutional remedies.
Deafness is caused by an inflamed condition
of the mucous lining of the Eustachian
Tube. When this tube is inflamed
you have a rumbling sound or
imperfect hearing, and when it is entirely
closed, Deafness is the result, and
unless the inflammation can be taken
out and this tube restored to its normal
condition, hearing will be destroyed
forever; nine cases out of ten are caused
by Catarrh, which is nothing but an
inflamed condition of the mucous surfaces.
We will give One Hundred Dollars
for any case of Deafness (caused by
catarrh) that cannot be cured by Hall's
Catarrh Cure. Send for circulars free.

Averts Awful Tragedy.
Timely advice given Mrs. C. Willoughby,
of Marengo, Wis., (R. No 1)
prevented a dreadful tragedy and saved
two lives. Doctors had said her frightful
cough was a "consumption" congh
and could do little to help her. After
many remedies failed, her aunt urged I
her to take Dr. King's New Discovery. I
4T have been usiDg it for some time,"
she wrote "and the awful cough has,,
almost gone. It also saved my little
boy when taken with a severe bronchial
trouble." Jhis matchless medicine has
no equal for throat and lung: troubles.

BRIDE ACCIDENTALLY
KILLED BY HUSBAND.
Terrible Tragedy Shocks
Summerton?Husband
Grief Stricken.
Summerton, Oct. 20.?Oae of the
mo9t deplorable tragedies in the his|
tory of this community occurred near
here this morning, wnea uie young
wife of Henry B. Richardson wa9 accidentally
shot and killed by a gun in
the hands of her husband. From the
testimony brought out at the coroner'9
inquest, held at the home at noon, it
appears that Mr. and Mrs. Richardson
were preparing to drive into Summerton
immediately after breakfast. Mrs.
Richardson was in her bed room when
her husband entered and picked np a
double-barreled shotgun from a corner,
intending to kill a chicken with it.
While speaking to his wife he examined
the gun to see if it was h aded
and a9 lie closed the breech there was
a deafening report, followed by u cry
of pain, and the young woman fell
mortally wounded to the floor. The
entire load entered ner left side, just
beneath the arm, tearing her heart
entirely away and causing immediate
death.
I Just nine days ago the young couple
surprised their large circle of friends
by announcing their marriage, wh'ch
took place in Augusta, Ga., on the
10th instant. The deceased was a
wvnn*> woman of 18 ve..rs of age, and
J v * o
was widely known and deservedly
popular hereabouts. The husband is
a young man of great promise and is
completely overwhelmed by the terrible
tragedy.
