The premium lists for the Lexington Count}' Fair are out. The fair will be held this year.on October 24, 25 and = 26?three big days?and it is the dufcy of every citizen of the county to lend hip or her efforts toward making thif the greatest fair in the history of the association. Our fair has always stood at the bead o? county f drs the country over?a fact that should cause ev1 ery Lexingtonian to fed proud. The fair this year promises to be bigger and better in every particular. The exhibits should be better in every department because our people are growing more prosperous and pro' gressive in all lines. Efird, Lexington, 3. C, War Declared. War was declared on Friday by Italy against Tnrkej. The cause of the . war is that Italy wants Tripoli, a slice of Turkey, and is going to take it if she can. On the day war was declared Italy sank several boats of the Turkish fleet and landed troops in Tripoli. ??I Tripoli is a province of Turkey in North Africa, along the Mediterranean sea; it has about 390,000 square miles of territory?the largest portion being mountainous and desert?and one million inhabitants. The groom is a machinist, holding: a positiQn with the Southern Railway in Oolnmbia. The couple were the recipients of many handsome presents, attesting the high esteem in which they are held. Mr. and Mrs. Fleming left on the Sown train for Colombia, where they srill make their home. Myers, of Congaree, as their pastor for another }Tear. Rrof. Yarborough, a graduate of the University of South Carolina, has beer elected to teach the school at this place this session. They expect to have a car of mules and horses in a few weeks. Jefferson G. Sharpe left a few days ago for Clemson College. Friday afternoon S. Branson Holley ;?hot and killed an alligator in Mrs. Fort's pond. It weighed fifty-twx*pounds and was six feet and six inches ?. long. There will be preaching at St. Johns church on Friday and Saturday before the third Sunday in this month. On Sunday the Holy communion will be administered. The pastor, Rev. B. D.
