Trustees to Meet.
The Lexington County School Trus
tees' association will hold its second
meeting in the court house on next
Monday* begining at 11 o'clock. State
Superintendent of Eduoation John E.
Sweat ingen will be present and address
the trustees. This is to be a most im*

portent meeting and it is hoped that
every trustee in the county will attend.

Appalachion Good Roads association
to be held in Roanoke, Va., on October

In these days, when various schemes
are being suggested by which the loser :
of personal property may recover it
without offering an extreme reward, it
is interesting to note two advertisements
which appeared last summer in
a German paper. In these advertise
ments nothing so bald as a suggestion
01 reward appeared, xaey seem merely
to present two wits fencing, and the
reader forgets the matter at stake:

A unique festival occurred in Paris
In 1797 in honor of the old men. The
