Billy Felix's Letter.

For some time I have been absent
from these columns but not for lack of
interest or for want of news.
Protracted meetings, fodder pullings
and summer showers have formed the
program for the past month, and cotton
picking will keep many busy nut 1
November.
The Farmers Telephone company
have connected their lines and the service
is excellent.
Tne meetings held at New Hope and
Sandy Ran churches recently weie
largely attended and much good was
accomplished, we trust.
N We are sorry to hear of the illness cf
our friend, Joel I. Harsey. We wish
him a speedy recovery.
Mrs. G. Goodwin, who has been
spending some time at her old home,
has returned.
Miss Ollie May Fallaw, who has
been spending her vacation at home,
has returned to her position at Swansea.

C. M Love, a negro who had been
passing off as a white man and boarding
in the home of well known people
at Spartanburg, was fined $100 or 30
days in the mayor's court Monday
morning, Mayor Lee ruling that it
was disorderly conduct for the negro
