Very Successful Meeting.
Wegener, S C., Sept. 4, 1911
Editor Lexington Dispatch:
I write to let the people of Lexington
Association know that the Lord
has been with us in great power at
Steedman church. The whole community
has been greatly moved. Fine
congregations attended both morning
and evening services. Nothing occurred
to mar the beauty of the worship.
A spirit of deep and earnest devotion
was manifest from start to finish.
. We had 26 additions: 3 by letter and
22 by Baptism. On Friday morning
at 10 o'clock we gathered at Hall's
Mill, where it was my privilege and
pleasure to Baptize 20, three being absent.
They will be Baptized next Sunday
morning.
On yesterday I preached at Convent.
The revival previously reporter ed
from this church is still on. We
had one applicant for membership
yesterday.
Truly ttie Tora nas Deen gooa to us
this year and I am sure the report that
will be sent up to the Association
from Convent and Steedman churches
will show that our people appreciate
the Lord's goodmess to them and
theirs.
44 What shall we render unto the
Lord for all His benefits unto us?''?
Psalm 11(?, 12.
Yours in His work,
Jas.C . Holley.

cotton growers of the South attending
the National Farmers' Union here.
Little of the proceedings of the union
was made public today, although,
aside from the price the farmers ask
for their cotton, good roads, parcels
post and dabbling in cotton futures
will be discussed by the convention.
Members of the union say parcels
post will be favored by the farmers,
and that the delegates will endorse
the Scott "anti-gambling" bill, pro- j
hibitiag the use of the mails or InterState
commerce for the furthering of
contracts for the delivery of cotton
where there is no intent to actually
deliver the cotton. The report of the
live stock commission discussed feeding
and stock raising, and stated that
1,000,000 milch cows and the same
number of mother cows would greatly
increase the wealth of the South.
Excluding adult male immigrants
from America and the fining of steamers
for the carrying of such immigrants,
was advocated.
