Asbill, of Leesville, p, "presenting D L. Epting and others, appeared before the county board of commissioners on Monday and asked f. ; - for a bearing as to the location of, the new steel bridge. The request was granted, September 15 being set as a gfc date for the hearing of the petitioners. There was no objection, Mr. 0. M. Efird represent) as he said, the entire interests of uhe county, urged that the hearing be granted, as did W. H. Sharpe. Several engineers presenting the different bridge companies, stated before toe board that the cost of construction at the dower point would*e much lejs- than at the upper point. r' It is claimed that if the bridge were located at the upper point it would be of more benefit to the towns of Newm bany county than it would to the V towns of Lexington, while the lower point wonid not only enhance the val, ma of Lexington county property but would be a sirongdxawing card for the town of Chapin. k ?* - ??- ?- ?.A.?i. i.
