a case of it*:
Charles A. Geiger, Depot St., Lexington,
S. C., says: ''For several
montli9 I was tubject to dull pains
through the small of my back and ts
they did not seem to go away, I
thought that my kidneys were affected.
At night when I lay down, my back
pained me and I had a too frequentdej
aire to pass the kidney secretions.
Finally I got a supply of Loan's Kidney
Pills from the Kaufmann Drug Co. and
they helped me so much that I am
pleased to endorse them." (Statement
given March 9, 1908.)
A SECOND STATEMENT.
When Mr. Geiger was interviewed
on March 23, 1911, he said: "I am
glad to confirm my former statement,
regarding Doan'a Kidney Pills. This
remedy has certainly been of benefit
to me." |

^^H| Seal I
Root- I
Golden Seal, the root of the above
! plant, is a very useful medicine. Many
; people gather it in our rich woodlands
during the summer. Few people know
how valuable it is in dyspepsia, catarrh,
and as a general tonic.
! Many thousand pounds of this root are
used each year in the famous catarrh
remedy, Peruna. This fact explains why
everybody uses Peruna for catarrh.
Miller's Appointment
A Wise Choice.
In the appontment of Sim J. Miller
to the office of sheriff to succeed P. H.
| Corley, Governor Bleasa made a whe
1 choice. It was a just recegnition of
I services rendered. For four years Mr. |
Miller has filled the position of deputy
under one of the bravest and best
I sherifis in all the land, the last two
years of which he has had the burden
of the work to do on account of the
fact that his courageous chief had be-/
i came greatly handicapped by being J
wounded by a negro while in the dis- j
charge of hi9 duty. That he has performed
these duties well, no man can
dare deny. That he will continue to
perform the duties of the office in a*
straightforward, honorable manner no
one who knows the man can question.
In the retirmeut of sherifl Corley, the
county loses one of its best officials.
That Henry Corley has made a record
for himself?a record that will live
long after he has made his last fight?
is a fact known all over the commonwealth.
Everybody, both friend and
foe. will wish the ex sheriff well and
for him long life and abundant prosperity.
Some men are anxious to get money
because the^ think it will enable them
to get more. t
Tortured for 3 5 Years
by a cure-derying stomach trouble that
baffled doctors, and resisted all remedies
he tried, John W. Modders, of
Moddersvilie, Mich., seemed doomed.
He had to sell his farm and give up
work. His neighbors said, "he can't
live much longer." "Whatever I ate
distressed me,*' he wrote, "till I tried
Electric Bitters, which worked such
wonders for me that I can now eat
things 1 could not take for'years. Its
surely a grand remedy for stomach
trouble." Just as good for the liver
and kidneys. Every bottle guaranteed.
Only 50c at Kaufmann Drug Co.
A friend is one who not only fills a
want but wants to fill it.
