Why, do you think, can Devoe sell pure paint as low as others sell adulterated paint ? There are 30 or 40X or 50 different - makers of paint, that rank, in a way, as "first-class;" they have their regions; one's region is large, anothers . f is small; everyone is "first-class" in > its region. i Of these 30 or 40 or 50, one is best, another next, and so on down; but the prices are ail the same or about the same?you can buy one for less than another though; a personal matter sometimes. But how, do you think, can Devoe sell the best for nomore than the rest ? The answer is: it costs less to sell it; more to make, less to sell. Reputa tion helps sdl it. Its 150 years help sell it. Oorley and Deputy Sneriff Sim J. 3 Miller ninety-two quarts of "licker" r and five hundred bottles of beer were emptied into the sewer pipe9 at the P county jail on la-t Friday evening, j This lot of whiskey and beer was j styled "contraband," the big seizure having been made y S ieriff Corley at the Lexington depot several weeks ago. It took some eight 'or ten hands ' about an hoar to complete the job, the popping 01 coras casing up mucu time. Some of the staff was highclass, a 1 large part of the beer being of the well known and popular "Badweiaer" brand. "Sheriff, it is a shame to poor ont all of that good Bndweiser," earnestly pleaded a bystander, whose month was ^evidently "watering" to get a little wbif of the rapid flowing , fluid.
