Lightning Kills Few.
In 1906 lightning killed only 169
people in this whole country. One's ,
chances of death by lightning are less
than two in a million. The chance of '
death from liver, kidney or stomach <
'^rouble is vastly greater, but not if \
Electric Bitters be used, as Robert .
Madsen, of West Burlington, la.,
proved. Four doctors gave him up
after eight months of suffering from
virulent liver trouble and yellow jaun- j
dice. He was then completely cu.-ed by
Electric Bitters. They're the best
s tomach, liver, nerve and kidney rem- '
edy and blood purifier on earth. Only

PRESENTMENT OF
THE GRAND JURY.
'o his Honor, George E. Prince, Presiding'Judge:
The Grand Jury respectfully submits
he following general presentment for
he term of the court of general sesions:
We have passed upon all bills of iniictmeht
given us, and returned the
ame to the Court with our findings
ndorsed thereon.
We have appointed our foreman, L.
V. Wise, and Levi Poole and J. S.
Joozer, as a special committee of our
tody to meet some time during the
ummer and with the assistance of
iur expert heretofore appointed, en mine
in detail the various offices with
heir several books, papers, records
tnd vouchers, and official bonds of all
he officers and offices of onr county.
Owing to the extreme illpees of Mr.
>. D. Fulmer, the steward of the
:;>unty poor house and farm, we h^.ve
tot as a body, or by special commitee,
visited and examined this instituion
at this term of the court; but we
tave deterred making this examinaion
until a later period, and will make
i report upon the same at the next
erm of this court.
We find the court house and jail
leatly and well kept by those officers
n charge of said buildings.
In regard to the special investigaion
by our body upon the several affilavits
and matters connected with,
md growing out of, the magisterial
jrimary election held in the 4th magsterial
district last summer, we beg to
eport that we have reached the conclusion
: That one H. Z. Adams, did
>ffer bribes to certain parties as an inlucement
for them to sign certain of
he affidavits now before us; and that
3. H. Price and A. P. Jumper are the
witnesses to prove this fact.
We, therefore, recommend that bills
>f indictment be preferred against
bese parties charging them with
hese violations of the law.
We also conclude from this investigation
that E. H. Addy should be exlonorated
from the charge of participating
or engaging in any irregularities
in the conduct or management of
laid primary election for said magistrate,
or in any manner violating the
aw and rules governing said election.
Our attention ha9 been called to the
'act that Willie H. Sharpe, Jr., and
ilaggie Love are now living in adultery,
and that James Sharpe, Jr., Albert
Sharpe, Noel Sharpe and Billy
Sliarpe are material witnesses to prove
the tame.
We thank your Honor and all the
officers of the court for "the uniform
courtesies shown us during the present
term. .
Respectfully submitted^
L. W. Wise,

Saved His Wife's Life.
"My wife would have been-in her
grave to-day,'1 writes O. H. Brown, of
Muscadine, Ala., "if it had not been
for Dr. King's New Discovery. She
wa9 down in her bed, not able to get
up without help. She had a severe
bronchial trouble and a dreadful cough.
I got her a bottie of Dr. King's New
Discovery, and she soon began to mend,
and was well in a short time." Infallible
for coughs and colds, its the most
reliable remedy on earth for desperate
lung trouble, hemorrhages, lagrippe,
asthma, hay fever, croup and whooping
cough. 50c, $1.00 Trial bottle free.
Guaranteed by All Druggists.
Respect the Mother.
Mark the young man who is coarse
and disrespectful to his mother. No
roseate pathway can be hers who shall
sustain to him the relations of wife.
Not the happiest will be the lot of
those who shall come as his children.
Not to be enyied is the neighborhood
in which he must be reckoned as a
citizen. It does not matter what the
mental status of that mother is, how
old, how blest, how decrepit, the man
to whom she is mother owes to her
eentleness, tenderness and considera
tion. Did Bhe fall back and did the
children by means of soperior ad vantages,
pass her in the race? But think
of the toil and trials and devotion and
denial, her mind and the years she
gave that the children might derive
the benefit. Think of her sacrifice;
no wonder if she fell behind for her
heart was in her home, in the buds
that were there. There is no rank, no
station, no condition, that may exempt
a manly man from a kind regard for
his mother.

by local applications, as the. cannot
reach the diseased portion of the tar.
There is only one way to cure deafness,
and that is by constitutional remedies,
Deafness is caused by an inflamed condition
of the mucous lining of the
Eustachian Tube. When tt.is tube is
inflamed you have a rumbling sound
or imperfect hearing, and when it is
entirely closed, Deafness is the result,
and unless the inflammation can be
taken out and this tube restored to its
normal condition, hearing will be de-i.
