Dr. Work.
Feelin' sick and bad and bine?
Dr. Work's the man for you.
In the duty that he gives,
Life beyond the sadness lives,
And the pain and ache and care
Vanish into perfumed air,
Where the tender touch of ease
Takes the tremble from your knees,
Old Dr. Work, good Dr. Work,
Who laughs at pills and such,
And sets you going with a smile
By some mysterious touch.
Pain and ache and got the grip?
Dr. Work will make 'em trip.
The rheumatism and the gout
PaCiC up their satchels and get out
When he comes in to help you feel
That life's so earnest and so real
Men haye no time to stop and play
Because they're feelin' bad today.
Old Dr. Work, wise Dr. Work,
Whose medicine is soul,
To keep you up and give you heart
And make you clean and whole.
To work, he says, and I'll be there,
To help you oyercome your care,
Forget you're got that pain and
swing
Into the labor line, he'll sing,
And if you do, first thing you know
The pain and.ache and all will go
And every drop of work you take
' Is something for the system's sake.
Old Dr. Work, dear Dr. Work,
The poor man's aid and friend,
Whose cheerful inspiration helps
The heart- keep up its end.
