Lexington Has to Bow to the
table?Scores of Citizens
Prove It.
After reading the public statement
of this representative citizen of Lexington
given below, you must come to
this conclusion: A remedy which
cured years ago, which has kept the
kidneys in good health since, can be
relied upon to perform the same work
in other cases. Read this:
L. Hall, jeweler, Main St., Lexington,
S. C., says: "I suffered from
kidney trouble for several years and
finally my kidneys became so weak
that I was alarmed. The kidney secretions
were too frequent in passage
at times, then again I could hardly
void them, I felt weak, lost flesh, did
not sleep well and was nervous and
irritable. A short time ago I got a
onnnlw r?f "Tinnn'a ITIrlnor "Pillo frnm
Kaufmann Drug Co. and since I used
them, I have improved wonderfully.
I earnestly recommend this remedy to
all kidney sufferers." (Statement
given March 9, 1908.)
THREE YEARS*LATER.
\
Mr. Hall was interviewed on March
23, 1911 and he said: "I still take
Doan's Kidney Pills occasionally and
they keep me well. This remedy is all
that it is represented to be and I gladly
cod firm my former endorsement of
it."

Letter From Minis, Fla.
Dear Editor:
We are having nice showers these
days, which are badly needed.
The track growers are bnsy gathering
beans, tomatoes, Irish potatoes,
cabbage, etc. Beans are bringing
from $2.50 to $3.00 per crate. The j
bean crop is not as good as it would j
have been, but for the severe cold on :
February 24 and 25, which did considerable
damage to all track.
There is a fine prospect for a large
orange crop.
Florida is on the biggest boom in
the history of the State. A lot of
lands are changing hands at adv^nced
prices. All farm lands have
advanced from ten to twenty dollars
per acre during the last two years and
still further advances are looked for.
Orange groves are bringing from $500
to $1,000 per acre.
Before I came to Florida I heard
people talking about money growing
on treesdown here. I have been here
for about 11 years. Of course money
grows on trees, but we have to cultivate
the trees if we expect to grow

Governor May Ask
Supreme Court to Help
Greenville, April 13.?Gov. Cole L.
Blease, who is here attending the state
council of the Redmen, made the fol
lowing statement yesterday afternoon:
"I wi'l show the people that a county
officer like Goodwin can't tell the governor
of this state to go to hell. I expect
to pursue the regular course in
presenting papers for the collection of
the salary of Detective Head, and if
the county of Greenville refuses to
pay the money I will secure the services
of a lawyer and take the case to
the state courts. If that fails, I will
take it to-the supreme court."
The statement was made in connec- .
tion with Supervisor Goodwin's refusal
to pay the salary of Officer Head, j
dispensary constable, officially appointed
by th a governor. For the reason
that the county delegation failed
to make provision for the salary of
this officer, this county has no funds
to apply to this purpose. The local
view is that the governor has misunderstood
the situation.
Supervisor Goodwin said he has always
treated the governor with the utmost
respect, especially in the matter
under discussion.
St. Mathews Votes Court!
House Bonds
At an election held at St. Mathews |
on Wednesday the 12th, to decide
whether the town would issue $20,000
bonds to aid in the construction of
public buildings for Caihoun county,
the vote was almost unanimously in
favor of the issue of the bonds. The
vote was 96 for and 4 against. These
bonds will doubtless prove an attractive
investment for buyers and will
probably bring a handsome premium,
as they will bear 6 per cent, interest,
payable semi-annually, and will be
payable at the National Pard bank in
New York.
The town is not excessively bonded,
and is rapidly growing in wealth every
eay, and an easy market is expected
[ to be found. Forty years, with a
[ privilege of redemption in 20, is the
term of the bonds, with the safeguard
of a sinking fund to redeem tbem.
