Road Inspectors Met And Organized. in accordance win tne recent ac* ox the General Assembly providing for a board of i isppctors for the public roads of Lexington county, the board met on Monday a** 11 o'clock, with the following members present: W. W. Barre, Lexington; N. B. Wannamtker, Sandy Run; C. L. Epting, Ohapin; Geo. W. Pound, Gastun; Einanuel Long, Gilbert; R.* L. Keisier, G lbert; Dan. P. Bodie, Batesbirg; W. Q. Jack=on, Swansea; J. 0. R^eder, Edmund. P. D. Meetze, John W. Scoffield, G. A. Guignird and W. M. Addy were absent. The board organized by electing W. W. Barre, chairman, and J. C. Reeder, secretary. ; R. L. Keisler offered a resolution to | give the chairman p^wer to appoint a committee of three members of the board to investigate the management of the chaingang when in different sections of the county. The resolution was adopted. . N. B. Wannamaker offered the following resolution which was also adopted: That the county supervisor furnish each mem ber of the board with a copy of the county road law and the names of the overseers in the different beats, and also each member with a list of the names of the persons subject to roaa aaty in tne several \ townships, and a list of those that I have paid the road tax. j The following resolution, offered by W.Q.Jackson, was adopted: That the inspectors in each township request the road overseers to look espe cially after the road3 near fields where | the farmers have a habit of plowing the side ditches shnt, and all yiola- I tors of this act will be dealt with according to law.
