much to the delight of his friends,
after having been confined to his room
for several days by illness. 1
Mr. Silas Clarke, one of the most
clever men in the county and a strong
believer in The Dispatch, was in town
Monday and gave hs a pleasant call.
Editor G. M. Harman is attending
the meeting of the grand lodge of Ancient
Free Masons in the city of Char- '
leston.

Mrs.'Andrew Corley.
Peculiarly sad was the death of Mrs.
Andrew Corley, which occured at her
home near Lexington on Saturday
evening at 7 o'clock. She had been ill
but about a week when the summons j

Her remains were laid to rest in the
cemetery at Providence on Sunday ^
afternoon at 3 o'clock with funeral J
services conducted by the Revs. B. W. ,
Cronk and J. A. Cromer.

Zacbarias Taylor, on Dec. 4th, Miss
Nettie Taylor was happily married to
Eddie Taylor, W. L. Hayes officiating.
Killed By[Felding Bed.
A dispatch from New York on Saturday
says:
Benjamin E. Lott, a well known civil
engineer of this city, who has done
nuch public work, was fatally injured
yesterday morning in a very peculiar
nanner. Mr. Lott sleeps in a folding
>ed, and in some manner the bed
dosed upon him as he started to
trise. It closed so suddenly that it
taught bin by the neck and almost
levered his head from nia body. His
amily heard Lott struggling and when
hey entered the room thev Dried the
>ed open and extricated him. He lost
i> great deal of blood and doctors say
ie cannot survive.
