OBITUARY. j
Mrs. Susan Lown, nee Miss Susan j
Boozer, wife of Mr. Joseph J. Lown,
was bora April 9, 18*26, in Lexington
County, S. C., and departed this life
Nov. 21, 1910, at her home 4 miles j
3onth of Lexington C. H., at the age ]
ef 84 years, 7 months and 12 days. In
early life she was confirmed in Nazareth
church, and remained a faithful '
and devoted member of the same until
death.
In the community and among a wide
circle of friends she was known for
tier works of love and charity. She
endeared herself to all around her,
both rich and poor, both white and
colored. Her pastor and his family
were alway objects of deepest concern
with her. She with her family
contributed liberally and continually
to all the enterprises of her churchlocal
work, home missions, foreign
missions, orphan home, publication
cause, Japan school, seminary building,
etc. It was her son, the late Mr.
Willie Lown, who remembered our
theological seminary in his will. But
3he did not boast of this, did not
-.peak of this< nor did 9he trust in her
works for salvation, bat in the blood
of Christ.
There were many sad and bereft
hearts as her bodv was laid to rest in
* I
the family cemetery.
