the next 5 will get $5, the next 10 will
get $2, the next 30 will get $1.

Mr. Horton says that large crowds
of ladies always attend his sales and
.? buy lots. At his last sale at Walhalla
lots were sold to ladies and least
half of the prizes went to Ladies.

Death of Geo. C. Clarke.
Mr. George C. Clarke, one of the j
best known and highly respected citi- *
zens of this countv. died at his home
at Jones's Mill on Saturday night at 7
o'clock, after an illness of five weeks. ,
His death was due to a complication |
of diseases.
* The deceased was about 57 years of
a^e and had been twice married. By
his first wife 8 children survive, two
sons and six daughters, all of whom
are among the best citizens of the
county.
Hd is also survived by his last wife
and several brothers and sisters, Coroner
B. D. Clarke, of this t^wn, being
one of the brothers.
The funeral was held from his late
"^residence on Sunday at noon, the
Rev. Mr. Felder, of Gilbert, officiating.
The interment was in the family
burying ground.
