, ETotico Subscribers,
A Bine X on your paper denotes vou j
?re in arrears. A Red X shows that
your subscription expires in the issue

All through this issue you will find
references to a sale of lots that will
ake place on December 20th at 11
o'clock. We are glad that this very
-desirable property is to be put on the
market this way for several reasons.
First, they will necessarily go cheap
because there will be so many offered
at once.
Sieond, they will be soid on such
easy terms that any one can buy.
Any man i9 foolish to pay rent. It is
better to pay interest and owi your
own home, aud then, too, these people
will thorough y advertise this sab
*nd in that way bring new per pie to
this town who otherwise would not
come here.
Wo hr?r^? tho n?.>T)le of the town will
** v "' r- i *- - - take
an interest in this matter ami attend
the sale. Tbeie are a number ot
young men in town who spend more
<everv mouth iooii-shly than they would
have to pay on a lot. Wo understand
that you can p :y $10 cash ar.d $5 per
month nntil paid for. You would soon
find yourself with a nice lot and wonder
how you got it.

"General prosperitj reigns supreme
throughout tne county. We nave
been making annual trips over the

uevfer found our people in better condition.
The crops have been fair and
the prices have been good, and there
is but little cause . for complaint.
There is a little unrest among som^ of
the people of the Fork in the section
^proposed to annex to Richland county
mnd the same feeling exists among the
people of Brookland, which territory,
also is in the clutches of annexation.

nothing to be gained by such procedure.
If the election carries, these i
people will find out when u is too 'ate, ;
that they have made a mistake; that ]
the conditions are no better in Richland
than in Lexington; that they can
never hope to have lower taxes, bet- ,
ter schools, better road9 and bridges
in the county of Richland than they
can have in the county of Lexington. .
They will soon realize that a pound of

bring more in Richland oounty than it
will brine m Lexington. We are
warning these peop'e row that once
they go to Richland they will not be
able to come back to ietingt* n without
