House by a small majority, any pretext
will*be seized upon by them to
- unseat democrats wherever possible.
One such pretext, and it is a matter
which has given us the greatest concern
in pa3t contests, is the smallness
I of the vote by which we are sent to
Congress. It is almost impossible to
explain the smallness of our vote in
the General Election and is always a
source of annoyance and danger to us
i and would be especially so if the Republicans
should control the next j

fore, becomes the duty of every Democrat
in the district to vote * in the
