4i . On account ot a breakdown in the
mill from wlneh we have been getting
our paper supply, The Dispatch goes
to its readers two days, late this week.
The issue has been gotten out under
many difficulties and c we hope
' that our readers will overlook all mistakes.
. It was the pleasure of the edito/ to
- take a look through the new Gleneo
' Cotton Mill, in Columbia, last Friday.

?'? . This mill manufactures cotton rope
and twine of ad sizes. It is equipped
throughout with up to-ciate in aehinery.
Mr. J. M. Ealow, formerly of SuxeGotha
Mills, is the efficient superintendent.
He has about 210 hands in
his employ, and the miii rups both
day and night. It is located in the
Western part of the city with quite a
little mill village.
Mr. Wannamaker is general manager,
and under his management the
mill is paying handsome d.vicfends.
We were pleasad to see so many
* Lexington folk employed in the mill.

The fourteenth annual jair of the
Lexington County Fair Association
will come to a close this Thurday
p- afternoon, alter having held one of
the most successful fairs in the history
of the association. The attendance
. - . has been most gratifying throughout.
On yesterday there were luiiy six
thousand \ eople on the grounds atone
time during the day. and today there
is another very large crowd. The attendance
c-n Tuesday was good lor
opening day.
The exhibits in every department
were larger and better than ever with
- the possible excp:im or the sheep

partment is especially good, and
shows more conclusively than ever
what can be grown on, Lexington soil,
The feature of today will be the
meeting of the old soldiers and the
reunion cf the surviving ras-mbers of
the old Saluda Guards, Capt, W,
Moultrie Gibbes, of Columbia, com%
mander of the company, is here and
will address his old comrades, The
ladie9 of Lexington, headed by Mrs,
W, P, Roof, will serve dinner free of
-charge 10 every old soldier, all of
whom will be admitted to the grounds

is furnishing the amusements for the
occasion, and no cleaner attractions
have evtr been seen here.
Secretary George and the other
v * officers of the association, are to be
commended for uhe great success of
the fair, for it is due largely to the
untiring efforts of Mr George that the
-fair Has been so well carried out.
