The Lutheran Joint Conference will meet at St. David's church, near Arthur's, on next Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Mr. Charlie Lindler, of the Fork, who was accidentally shot by his brother-in-law, Mr. J. Frank Shealy, about 4 weeks 'ago, will recover. In the recovery of Mr. Lindler, surgery has won another rictory. It will be remembered that Mr. Kindler was shot in the chest and stomach, the in- , testines having been punctured in six places. An operation was performed ly Dr. A. B. Knowlton, the distinguished surgeon of Columbia, assisted by ' Dr. J. W. Lexington Farmer Injured Yesterday George F. Leitzsey, a substantial farmer of the Dutch Fork section of Lexington county, was seriously injured in a runaway yesterday after-; noon on Main street. He was taken to the home of his son, Hugh Leitzsey, 1400 Lumber street, and is in a critical condition. Mr. Leitzsey had just bought a new mule and started home. The animal became frightened on Main street and ran for half block to the corner of Main and Richland. Here the wagon in which was Mr. Leitzsey and a negro, Henry Perry, collided with another wagon loaded with crushed stone. Mr. Leitzsey's wagon was overturned and _ r_n i u it rr ? lltf ieii ueueaui ii-. xieuiy .reny was caught in the reins and dragged for about 25 yards. * Both Mr. Leitzsey and the negro were rendered unconscious. Mr. Leitzsey was quickly given medical attention by Dr. Harmon. Last night bis condition wa9 regarded J as critical by the atiending physician, i Ihe negro was sufficiently recovered j to be taken to his home a few minutes I ifter the accident happened.
