Boys' Corn Club Matter.
Member? of the Boys' Cora Club
should make their return to the
County Superintendent by Saturday
evening, tlie 22 d. As I understand
the rule, the report should show that
only one acre was planted in corn and
the corn should he measured by two
< i interested persons, giving the exact
number of bushels grown on said acre.
Of course it should further show the
1 e st of production. All these matters
were set out in the rules and the department
at Washington sent them
out, as they had the names of all boj s
enrolled. Furthermore, every member
making return should bring ten of
the best f ars raised. This corn can
be exhibited at the County Fair and
also at the Corn Fair to be held in
Columbia, Dec. 5th, 6th and 7th. But
ill order to be eligible the contest for
the different prizes each member
should have a written report of his
crop. In conclusion I would like to
say that, certificates of merit, signed
by the Governor, State Supt. of Education,
State Supervisor of Elementary
Rural Schools, County Supt. of
Education and State Agent of U. S.
Farm Demonstration work, will be
given to members of clubs raising
seventy-five bushels of corn ner acre.
A. D. MARTIN,
County Supt. Education.
