is attending court this week as a juror,
did not wait until he sold his first bale
of cotton to pay for his paper. Before
coming to Lexington he sold some
fine hog9 and laid aside a dollar for
The Dispatch. Mr. Barre is one of
i those farmers who lives at home and
boards at the same place.

D. E. Lucas.
i Mr. D. E. Lucas, one of the oldesti
citizens of the Swansea section of this
j county, died on the 23rd of August.
He was a good citizen and soldier,
I having been a member of Co. K. 13th
regiment.
