Auto "Crime" Forerunner.
PViilnrlplnhin. .Tnnfl 9Q. ? "The fact
that the running of automobiles, regardless
of anybody'9 rights has become
a public scandal i9 due to the
supinenes9 of the people in not rising
up and demanding that one class of
people shall not have practically the
exclusive use of the"street9 and roads
of our city," declared Judge Bregy in
discharging, the June grand jury in
the Criminal Court today,
"There are, of course," continued
the Court, "plenty of people who run
their motor cars in a reasonable way,
but there are also classes.
"We have, first, a class of drivers
who are utterly lawless and drunken,
and who regard no one's right,"
"The other class, equally dangerous,
is the young, immature drivers, of
both sexes, who have not the judgment
to appreciate the responsibility that
goes with the running of an engine on
the public streets?for after all that is
all that an automobile is, It is an en*

"To my mind the reports which we
see in the newspapers of hundreds of
millione of dollars being spent for automobiles
is an indication of a wild extravagance
which goes far beyond
what people can afford, and before
long will bear its fruit9 of failure, foreclosed
mortgages and crime."
IT IS SERIOUS
Some Lexington People Pail
to .Realize the Seriousness
of a Bad Back.
The constant aching of a bad back,
The weariness, the tired feeling,
The pains and aches of kidney ills
Are serious?if neglected.
Dangerous urinary troubles follow.
A Lexington citizen shows you how
to avoid them.
C. A. Geiger, Depot Street, Lexington,
S. C., says: "For several months
I suffered from dull pains across the
small of my back and as they did not
disappear, I came to the conclusion
that my kidneys were disordered. At
night, after lying down, my back pained
me intensely and I also noticed an
irregularity in the passages of the kidney
secretions. I was feeling miserable
when I procured Dean's Kidney
Pills at the Kaufmann Drng Co. I
used them as directed and they proved
to be the remedy I needed. They
have helped me so much that it givps
ma pleasure to recommend them to
other kidney sufferers."

black bass three years ago, was washed
completely away last Friday. The
fish were scattered over three acre9 of
corn about ail acre below the dara,
which was completely washed away.
The fish ranged from one-fourth of a
pound to five pounds in weight. It is
estimated that it will require $500 to
replace the pond. The old mill pond
on the same place was washed away
