FOX, Special Agent, LEXINGTON, S. C. I INCE COMPANY OF AMERICA, pany by tho State of New Jersey ( Home Office, Newark, N. J A 3^0^TC^:T03S" T, of Your Valued Pat Of Iznportaaca to Lezington County. Mr. Wm. P. Wannamaker, special agent- of the bureau of tlie census, ciivitiion of mam f-icturers, is now engaged in collecting statistics covering Lbe manufacturing industries of this county. Ic is very important that he secure reports from every saw-mil), grist mill, turpentine sti 1, oil mill, cotton gin, brick manufacturer, builder of carriages and wagons, and any and evtry establishment that manufactures anything at all. From a standpoint of patriotism and county pride alone, esery individual or corporation operating any kind of manufacturing plant in the county should cooperate to the extent of his ability with Mr. Wannamaker and help him to secure full returns for Lexington. Tnis census means a great deal to any county or state. Oar representation in the State legislature and the national congress is dependent upon it. Every one kuows ..hat its a good thing. If it were not, the federal government would not spend millions of dollars every ten years to have the work done. Mr. Wann&maker has canvassed a large portion of the county already. He travels in an automobile and gets about rapidly. He finds tnat Lexington county has some line roads, but say9 that there is still room tor improvement. Iu order to secure reports from some of the more remote establisnments, he will be in the town of Lexington during court week, which commences next week, and earnestly requests that any and everyone operating any kind of manufacturing plant, such ai nimed above, should they be in town during the week, call at the Meetze Hotel and give him the desired information. He promises not to detain anyone more than a few minutes Lets all pu.l together and make a good showing for LexiDgton county, and help Mr. Wannamaker* because if he docs not see you here, ne will have to }yj to your puce of business. .Now don't make the mistake of thinking that jour plant is too small, because they are all large enough to help swell tne total, and that is what we want. Champion Fishermen. Capfc. L. VV. Redd, W. H. Bickley, Sam Long, Barney Flojd aud Sim McCariha, are the champion fishermen of the count*. These gentlemen returned from a fishing jaunt down oil ihe Congaree creek on last Wednesday bringing with them two ot the largest tim eVt-r seen i:i this neck of trie woods One weighed 28% pounds, while ihe other tipped Um scales at 28)4. The fish were shut by Capt. R t.d with a r.fle. Opinion is divided as to the kind of fish they were, some being of the pinion that they Were rock dsn, while others ueciared that Itiey were trout.
