Mr. Edwards has unquestionably
served hi9 county faithfully and well
Iu otherwords, he has '"made good."
During the last session Mr. Edwards
introduced, and succeeded in getting
it through the house, a bill providing
for the building and maintenance of a
freight and passenger depot at Ballentine'?,
in the Fork. The measure,
passed the senate during the closing
hours of the session, hut it is understood
that the railroad is making an
effort to uphold the act, the matter
now being before the governor. He
was the leader in the fight for the law
whereby this county now hires convicts
from the State to work on the
public roads. He introduced a bill
providing for the establishment of agricultural
schools in the several congressional
districts throughout the
State.
Mr. Edwards will meet hi9 constituents
face to face during the campaign
and it is believed that he will be easily
re-elected for another two years.
Dr. Ridgell has announced that he
will not be in the race, bnt nothing
