Bates burg, May 24.?Mrs. Nettie
Strother, widow of the late Dr. E. P.
Strother, died at her home in this town
Monday afternoon after a long and
gainful illness c f several months. Mrs.
Strother was one of the first residents
df Batesburg, having lived here for
nearly forty years. She is survived
by an only son. Col. Edwin Folk Strother,
and one brother, Oapt. E. H.
Folk, a leading member of the Edgefield
bar. The funeral services were
held it her residence today at 11 o'clock =
and the interment was in the Bate**?
burg cemetery. Mrs. Strother was a
devoted member of the Methodist
church and always took an active pait I _
