H. Euasell. ( On April 19th, 1910, Mr. L. H. Rusell died at his home ?on upper Main * fcreet. Ho has not beeu in very good T icalth daring the past year, and when I ?n last Saturday he suffered a stroke c ?f apoplexy his constitution having j >ecome so weakened by his advanced rear3 and declining health that he i vas unable to stand the strain of any ( idditional suffering, and death came J leacefully at eleven o'clock Tuesday. ? Mr. Russell was the son of John and i Sarah Russell, ai-d was born near Ab- * leville in 1835, and resided with his lareuts until reaching manhood when io vpnmvpfl t-n this citv. which has ~ 1 I )een his home for many years. When , ;he War Between the States com- ^ neneed, Mr. Russell volunteered and va9 elected third Lieutenant in Capt. VI. T. Owen's Oavalry and served with lis ([company on the coast of South 1 Carolina for some considerable time, ] Decoming disabled for active service i le was assigned to duty at Lexington, ' 3. C., C. H., and there met and sub- j juently married on March 1, 1866, , Miss Antoinette Boozer, a daughter of 1 :he late Judge Lemuel Boozer, who j vas an Associate Justice of the Su- : irerae Court of South Carolina. She < vith the following children: Mrs. J. 1 VT. Lawson, of Pium Branch, Mrs. S. ! 3r. Thompson, and Miss Nettie Ru9lell, of Abbeville and Dr. L. H. Rusiell, of Greenwood, are left to mourn j he irre parable loss of a kind and af , ectionate husband and a loving and t nost indulgent father. Two sisters, < klrs Lewis Bowie and Miss Ann Rusell, of Due West, also survive him. Mr. Russell was a self-made man j ind owing to a splendid business abil- i ty has ama93ed a large fortune.
