! man of unusually bright intellect and
of the loftiest character, being a high |

his family, which was one of the oldest
and most prominent of Lexington
county.
He was a member of the Methodist
church. During his last years the
beautiful traits of his character were
more and more manifest. The mantle
of his mother's taith seemed to have
fallen upon him. This faith in our
I Heavenly Fatner grew stronger an^
more implicit as the end drew near.
Those who were with him say it was a j
pleasure to be of service to him. He |
was so appreciative, so courteous, so
thoughtful of others, It was touching
to see how gladly, how tenderly,
how lovingly the old family servants j
ministered to his every need. H.
