Slice, one of the best o sitizens of this county, died at his ^ home in the Dutch Fork, near White Rock, on Monday morning,.aged about I 33 years. 1 He was a brave Confederate soldier, having foutrht with valor during the m war between the sections Mr. Slice was a kind neighbor and was greatly loved by the entire community. He is survived by several 3ons and daughters, all of whom are well known citizens of the Fcrk. His remains were laid to rest at Spring Hill church 0:1 the 15tb, in the presence of a large congregation of sorrowing relatives and friends. Mrs. C&rson Pardoaed. Mrs. Fannie Carson, the Spartanburg woman who was convicted of murdering her husband in 1805, has been pardoned by Governor Ansel upon recommendation of the State pardon board. J Mrs. Carson is now 40 years old. a When she entered the penitentiary 15 f years ago, she le-.'fc behind two little | slaughters?mere tots. Now they are both married, having children of their ewn. Mrs. Carson left the penitentiarj* on Thursday a free woman?the first j time she had seen the light of a great and wonderful world in 15 years. Trustees Sustained. The county board of education on Wednesday sustained Charlie B. Kneece, J. P. Copeland and Morgan Corder, school trustees of district No. 19, in their action in removing Hulon school house and the huilding of another on a'different silo. It is hoped that the bitter feeling that has been engendered during the hearing of the cause will now be buried and that all patrons will work together for the common ?Ood of the entire community. The new building w ill be a credit to tne aisuict. Building Neat Kesidence. Messrs.
