Dr. J. K. Weeks, Murderer?

Dr. J. H. Weeks, the bigamist who
is now confined in the Spartanburg
jail awaitiug trial on that charge,
may also be indicted for murder, if it
can be proven that he poisoned his
second wife, as is now generally
thought.
After Dr.tHamilton, the name he
went under, drifted back to Georgia
and located at Morgan with ^his second
wife, he began the practice of
medicine and built up a good business.
After the birth of a child Mrs. Hamilton
died under suspicious circumstances,
and also the child, but the people
of that place suspected nothing, as
his record was unknown to them.
Now it seems that there is considerable
suspicion about the matter, and
indications point to poisoning.
It is reported that the body is to be
exhumed and examined to see if there
i3 any foundation for this suspicion.

but if it can be proved that he poisoned
his second wife and baby to get
rid of them, he will get what is comcan

There was $300 reward offered for
his arrest, raised in th6 following manner:
The relatives of the first Mrs.
Weeks offered $100, the Governor of
the State $100, aftd the Knights of
Pythias of Wagener $100. This money
will be divided between Mr. J. B.
Tyler, the gentleman who recognized
him in Morgan, and the Sheriff of that
county.

A Tough, Proposition.

of The State, is said to be thinking
of running for congress in the seventh
district against Lever. This
must be a mistake. Mr. McGee is a
capital newspaper man and a mighty

Pine Ridge Sciocl Closing.
Pine Ridge School will close with
an entertainment on March the 19th.
The exercises will consist of a debate,
