BARRE RECEPTION
BRILLIANT AFFAIR.
Inspiteof the very inclement weather
which prevailed throughout Thursday
evening, the brilliant reception
given by Mr. and Mr9. W. \V. Barre
at their handsome home cn College
Hill in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Henry
W. Barre, wa9 very largely attended.
The bouse was prettily decorated in
palms and cut flowers, carrying out in
detail the color scheme, pink and
white. The hall wa9 decorated in
tiay red hearts, suspended in a mo9t
attractive manner to the entrance of
tne east parlor, which was decorated
in white. Receiving in Uii9 room
were Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Barre, Mr.
and Mrs. Henry W. Barre and Miss
Ernestine Barre. The guests were
greeted in the hall by Mrs. J. H. Habenicht,
of Columbia, and Mr. B. H.
Barre.
In the rear of the large hall, from a
bower of ferns and flowers, a bevy of
charming young girls?Misses Ethel
and Nellie Caughman, of Columbia,
and Misses Caro and Ruth Efird?
served delicious and refreshing punch.
The west parlor and dining room
were decorated in pink. The bride's
table was beautiful. Pink tulle was
draped from the centre, and fell in
misty folds about the table. Numberless
pink tapers surrounded the
bride's cake shedding a soft glow,
making the scene a fairy dream of
I loveliness.
A sweet course was served, buffet
style, by the Misses Caughman. Delightful
music by the Misses Essie,
Lucille, Caro and Rath Efird, added
much to the pleasures of the evening.
The out-of-town guests were: MisI
ses Lottie Wyse, Ethel and Nellie
Caughman, Mrs. J. H. Habenicht,
Messrs. Joe Wyse and John Swygert,
of Columbia.

Mrs. Barre is a young woman of
