DuPre, census supervisor | ? for the 7r.li District of South Carolina, whose office is at Columbia, has re- j ceived from the Census Bureau a sup- i ply of blank applications for persons j | applying fur jo^i ions as census enu merators. "In view of the fact that you maj^ be required to take a test before a postmaster, state what post-office would be most convenient to you for this purpose. )This test is of a practical character, consisting chiefly or wholly of the filling out of as ample schedule cf population from information furnished regarding typical families, and, in the case of enumerators whose work will be in rural districts, the filling out cf a sample schedule of agriculture.) j "Are the answers to each of the foregoing questions true to the best of .your knowledge and belief? Are they in j'ou" own handwriting?" Indorsements of each applicant must be secured from two representative citizens of the community in which the applicant resides. They must be at least 21 years of age and acquainted with the applicant not less than one year. Indorsements will not be accepted from any person who is in any way related to an applicant. The indorsement certifies that the applicant "is a thoroughly trustworthy and , honest person, of good habits, and, in my opinion, is fully capable of discharging the duties of a census enumerator, if appointed." Saved At Death's Door. The door of death seemed ready to open for Murray W. Ayers, of Transit Bridge N. Y., when his life was wonderfully saved. "I was in a dreadfnl condition," he writes, "my skin was almost yellow; eyes snnkcn; tongue coated; emm aciated from losing 40 , pounds, growing weaker daily. Virulent liver trouble pulling me down, to death in spite of doctors. Then that matchless medicine-Electric Bitterscured me. I regained the 40 pounds ' lost and now am well and strong."
