answers "Where?". Since the stir a
few weeks ago and the order from the
Florence sheriff to the effect that Bigham
was not a fugitive from justice,
nothing farther ha9 been heard.
The doctor "had been" in Greenville,
so said his brother. The police
authorities were told not to arrest him. |
The courts have done nothing. It
seems that his appeal has not been
perfected. Where is the solicitor? In
fact, what is the status of the case?
And, where is Dr. Bigham the convicted
felon who was released on bond to
the amount of ?1,500??Laurens Advertiser.

The chamber of Martin Luther at
Wartburg has fallen into a state of
ruin. Admirers who have visited the
Ritterhaus of Voburg, where the Elector
Frederick the Wise offered asylum
to the Reformer, have allowed their
zeal to exceed their discretion, and,
vandallike, have caryed their names
with thair pocket knives on the table,
and chipped off bits from the bedstead,
so that to restore it would necessitate
making it anew.
The same has happened with the
plaster on the wall, and the famous
ink stain has disappeared completely..
It is high time that measures should
be taken to make an end of thess scandalous
depredations.

United States Government in this
state, spent a short while here on
Sunday. Mr. William* will, in a few
weeks, announce the rules governing
the corn contest in this county. He
stated while here that the farm demonstration
work in this couuty the
last year had been most successful
