JE.iLOUS WOMAN
SHOOTS TO HILL
Elvira Todd of Augusta Wounds
Richard Watson.
In a fit of jealousy Wednesday afternoon
Elvira Todd, a young white
woman abuut 22 years old, entered the
office of the Central of Georgia freight
j depot, at Augusta, and Probably fatal!
ly shot Cashier D. Richard Watson.
The young woman claims that she
has for the past seven years been infatuated
with Watson, who is a young
man. She claims that he held out a
ray of hope for her until a few days
ago* when he 4'threw her over.'' In a
statement given out tonight she says
that she loved "Dick" and could not
see him marry another woman. The
shooting occurred in the main office
of the treight depot of the road.
Young Watson's office i& just inside
the building and after two shots from
outside of the building through a
window, she made her way into the
building and to Watson's office. Seeing
that he was cornered, and having
no way to protect himself, Watson
attempted to get inside of a large iron
safe, but was unable. At this time
I ft
i the crazed woman gained entrance inj
to the office and began firiDg. The
j first shot went wild, but the second
: penetrated his collar and grazed the
! Adam's apple. The next shot broke
his right leg just above the knee and ]
j Watson fell to the floor. He begged
i for his life, but standing directly over
! his prostrate form the woman fired the
last carttridge in the pistol, which entered
his chest just about an inch
j above the heart. She aimed at his
J heart. This bullet penetrated the left
1 lung and^passed out through the shoulder
blade.
The shooting was done with a 32 cal

taking effect. Watson wa3 hurried to
the city hospital, where he was given
surgical attention, and the unfortunate
girl put under arrest.
When she was arrested she said :
"I love the ground Dick Watson
walks on, but I will not let him mairy
another woman. I hope I have killed
him."
The Secret of Long Life.
A French scientist has discovered one
secret of long life. His method deals
with the blood. But long ago millions
of Americans had proved Electric Bitters
prolongs life and makes it worth
living. It purifies, enriches and vitalizes
the blood, rebuilds wasted nerve
cells, imparts life and tone to the entire
system. Its a godsend to weak,
9ick and debilitated people. "Kidney
i trouble had blighted my life for
months," writes W. M. Sherman, of
Cashing, Me., *4but Electric Bitters
cured me entirely." Only 50c- at Kaufi
