' ' s f * i, V * ^ " # , ? "v. . ' 1 ueaie * mr f/ , Obituary. Mr9. Eva C. Taylor, wife of Joseph A. Taylor, departed this life August 5, 1909, at about the age of 72 years and nine months. Two brothers and three sisters preceded her to the grave. She leaves an aged and feeble husband with relatives and many friends | to mourn their loss. In early life she united with St. Pe; tors' (Piney Woods) Evangelical *- - ? ,3 Lutheran cnurcn, wnere ?ae remained a member till death. The body wa9 laid to rest at Shiloh Methodist church, services being conducted by the writer. The large congregation gave evidence of the high esteem in which she was held. We trust she rests in peace. May God comfort the sorrowing. B. D. W. Obituary. LeGrand McCaudy, little son of Chester Black and wife, departed this life July 22, 1909, aged one year, one month and 28 days. Through baptism this little one had been given to 4 Him who said "Suffer the little children to come unto me." Thus He gathers the lambs with His arm and carries them in His bosom. The funeral was at Cedar Grove Evangelical Lutheran church. There the body was laid to rest to await the resurrection. May God's blessing and consolation abide with the bereaved. B. D. Brown, we learn of the 9a death of Rev. J. G. Schaid, who wa well known to many of our reader! he having filled the pulpit in St. St< phen's church in this place on moi than one occasion. Besides, he was pai tor of one of the churches in ':h Dutch Fork at one time. The following account of his tragi end appears in the Pittsburg Dispatc under date of August 7: "Saltsburg, Pa., Aug. 6.?Rev. J. C Scbaid, pastor of St. John'9 Evange ical Lutheran Church in this placi was killed instantly by a freight trai this morning. He wa9 walking c the track and stepped aside for a eastbound freight train to pass and i so doing a westbound work train ra him down. "He was aged about 65 and ha been pastor of the Saltsburg and Fei neltown churches for one year. H wife, son and daughter reside in A lanta, Ga. He was a popular mini ter and doing excellent work in bot churches." Prof. Clinkseales To Speak At Skull's Cut Prof. Jno. G. Clinkseales, of Wo ford College, one of the foremost edi cators in South Carolina, will delive an educational address at Haske Shull's barbecue, in the Hollow Cree section, next Friday. Prof. Clinl scales is a fine orator and there is rare treat in store for all who go 01 to hear him. There will be othe speakers, and an excellent dinner wi be served. Unclaimed Hail.
