The sensational elopement of John Bellman, a rich Flatbush contractor, with the beautiful young bride of one of his workmen, Jerken Jensen, was unfolded in Flatbush court on Monday, when the runaway builder's des J nVt f 1/4 wrvri XXQ * _ liiu.it; wae (tuu liuugij ^nauicii, iiuiold, aged nine, and Norman, aged seven, pitifully begged for food to keep them from starvation. Piece by piece of the furniture of Bellman's handsomely appointed home has been sacrificed, the weeping mother declared, to keep the wolf from the door, until the house is now dismantled. No word has been received from Bellinan and no provision was made for his family when he fled with Mrs. Jensen. His prosperous business has been wrecked ancf' his entire funds, amounting to about ?500,0C0, were drawn from his banks on the eve of his disappearance. The weeping woman's pitiful tale of a how-Bellman deserted his family in I his mad infatuation for the young I flaxen-hdired Danish girl was heard I by a number of court attendants. I She confessed her desperate straits and threatened to kill herself unless km -i nmn f/wflinnminn rw nrrtrfl traa TP 1U WOO 1UIU1W1UIU6 v,. .. .. . csived from her husband. One of those who listened to her appeal for help was the deserted young husband, Jensen. He at once offered his sympathy, and when the mother and children were directed to go to the Charity Aid society, in Brooklyn, he escorted them to that establishment. c "Tonight I start to find them," Jen- ? sen declared. "When I do then both die. I will kill them for this. To J leave that fine woman and those boys is more of a crime than stealing my young wife. He can have her. I don't want her any more, except to X see her regret this act." ^ ALL UNSTRUNG. 1 Many Lexington People Suffer ^ From Nervous , Troubles and Don't Know Why. Thousands of cases of kidney trouble show few outward symptoms except nervousness, depression, langnor, irritability and an inclination to worry over trifles. It is generally due to the |j poisonous action of uric acid on blood and nerves, and can't be cured except jj^ji by curing the kidneys. Doan'9 Kidney Pills cure these ills by curing the kidneys. Lexington women are learn- j ing it. A W. P. Metts, of New Brookland, near Lexington, S. C., says: "I 9uflered severely at times from attacks H of kidney trouble.
