B. Ethjredge and taken to Columbia by the nayor. v Richardson is an escaped convict, ? laving been sent up from Richland joanty in 1896 for the murder of a ne- v rro named Myers. In an interview ^ with the correspondent of The News ? ind Courier, Richardson admitted bis 1 dentity and stated that he had escap- 0 ?d with about seven other convicts "rom the chaingang guard in Lexing- E ;on County in November last, and E made hi9 way direct to this city, 8 where he has been ever since work- 8 ing under the name of Frank Middle- 1 ton.
