To Utilize Cotton Stalk.
Cordelr, Ga., April 16.?Dirt was
broken here Monday morning on the
first cottcn stalk paper mill ever erected.
The Southern Cotton Pulp and
Paper company has been chartered
with a capital stock of ?175,000 and the
material is on the ground for the erection
of the buildings. The capacity of
the plant will be 25 tons per day. About
40 tons of cotton stalks will be consumed
in making a day's output. News
print paper will be the principal product.

Car Inspector Silled.
Columbia, April 11.?C. W. Sanders
car inspector and repairer for the
Seaboard Air Line, was instantly
killed in the Seaboard yard here this afternoon
at abou: 4 o' clock by being
mashed between twe box cars that were
unexpecetedlv brought together while I
Sanders was standing between them.
At the inquest held to-night the verdict
<>t the jury was that Sander: 6 line to his
death as a result of his not complying
with the rules of the Seaboard Air Line. ;

Wolfe was elected to fill the short
term as clerk of court and afterwards
was elected for the term of four years.

the supervisor and county commissioners

Following is the Act under which

"The clerk of court of common picas
and general sessions shall receive a
salary of $1,000.00 and all the fees
now allowed bylaw shall be turned
over to the county treasurer for conn- j
ty purposes."
The courts will no doubt settle the j
matter, as Mr. Wolfe has entered suit
against the commissioners and has
employed council to push his claim.
