To the Editor of The Dispatch: The health of this community is very good at tl e present time, but the measles were raging around here for several weeks, and are still raging at a distance. The fanners in this section nave been hindered from preparing their lmd for planting by the heavy rains that have 1 alien during* the past few weeks; but it is plent3r time to plant, for it seems that winter is again with us, and it i9 feared that the peaches have been killed. Several new residences have been built in this section recently. Mr. Davis Kyzer has moved into his neat cottage near Barr. Megsrs. Smith Brothers have their turpentine still ready for operation. Mr. Charlie Roof has moved his mill, but we can still hear the hum of the saw and the sound of the whistle. Eggs are very plentiful now and the price is extremely low. April i. u. &. Dots From Black Creek. To the Editor of The Dispatch: The farmers in thi9 section will soon have all their lands ready for planting. Some corn has already been planted. Farmers are not using as much fertilizers this year as last on account of the low price of cotton. Plant corn and peas; it will pay better than cotton. Miss Bessie Kyzer visited relatives near Barr last week. Mr. Boyd Berry has recently had a ! phone placed in his residence. Mr. G. S. Crout is able to be out again, after a severe attack of pneumonia. Mrs. Emanuel Taylor has been very ill for the pa9t few weeks, but is very much better at this writing. Mr. Simon Luca9 and family have moved back to their home near Pelion from Mulberry, Fla., realizing that there is no place like old Lexington county to live. A :i O T">. J Aprn a. .ouster.
