Mr. Smiley Porter killed a fox in
Mr. R. C. Perry's yard, corner of
Nance and Cline streets, on Wednesday
that had been giving the housekeepers
of that neighborhood a good
deal of trouble. It had killed twentyfour
of Mrs. Perry's chickens and
twelve or fifteen of Mrs. Alice Porter's.
The fox was full grown aud had
probably been somebody's pet, as it
had a chain attached to it. It may
have belonged to some one connected
with the Smith shows, lately exhibiting
in the city near the power house.
