Hutto, a native of Lexington county near the Orangeburg line, but who has for a number of years resided in Wisconsin, spent a fevv days here this week with the family of his nephew, Dr. L. K. Sturkie. Mr. Hutto is a prominent business man of Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin, which is situated away up on the northern coast of the State. He has a host of relatives and friends in this and Lexington counties who will be glad to know of his success in the far northwest. He will remain in South Carolina about two weeks.?Orangeburg Sun. Did Look Hard. Laurens county sold a young white fellow some whiskey last fall; he got drunk and violated the law. The man was tried in the court last week and convicted. When he stood up to be sentenced Judge Prince said: "It looks a little hard for the county to Bell you liquor and then punish you for an offense committed while under its influence." We pitied the unfortunate young fellow.?Laurens Advertiser. Baseball Bays. Chester, March 20.?Ike Feaster, colored, was shot and perhaps fatally mounded at 2 o'clock Wednesday morning by Officer J. G. Howsee, of ;he city police force. Feaster had broken into the store of T. H. Ward, colored, and was coming out of the rear with his plunder, when the officer, who had been attracted by the loise, endeavored to halt him.
