Indigestion
Stomach trouble is bet a symptom of. and not
In itself a true disease. We think of Dyspepsia.
Heartburn, and Indigestion as real diseases, yet
they are symptoms only of a certain specific
Nerve sickness?nothing else.
It m this fact that first correctly led Dr. Shoop
in the creation of that now very popular Stomach/
Remedy?Dr. Shoop's Restorative. Going, directto
the stomach herres. alone brought that success"
and favor to Dr. Shoop and his Restorative. Without
that original aad highly vital principle, no
such lasting accomplishments were ever to be had.
For stomach distress, bloating, biliousness, bad
breath and sallow complexion, try Dr. Shoop's
Restorative?Tablets or Liquid?and see for yourself
what it can and will do. We sell and cheerfully

Negro Postmaster At Florence
To Go.
Washington, March 13.?It is stated
at the postoffice department this morning
that J. E. Wilson, the negro postmaster
at Florence, S. C., will not be
reappointed by President Taft, but
H. M. Tassell, will be appointed. This
announcement is taken to mean that
President Taft does not intend to appoint
negro federal officials where
they are objected to because of their
race.

COBS? CONTEST.
(Haeral Ass33ahl 7 Appropriated
3500.
The general assembly, just adjourned,
made provision for the continuing
of the annual corn growing contest
among the farmers of the state. There
will be given in prizes this year $500
! to those who are the successful partiI
cipants.
! The entries should be made at the
| offiice of the commissioner of agriculture
in Columbia. Commissioner Watson
is at present preparing the proper
form of contestants' manual, which
will be used by each contestant for
the purpose of keeping his crop record
and ho hones to have these man
uals ready very shortly, making due
announcement when they are ready
for distribution.
So far there have been two state
| corn contests held under state appropriations,
the one in 1906, with which
the national prize was won by Mr.
I Tindall, of Clarendon county, and the
other in 1907, in which Mr. B. E.
Moore, of Marlboro, won the chief
| prize with 137 bushels to one acre.
These contests have had a wonderfully
stimulating effect in the matter
of corn growing, and it is hoped that
the entries this year will be far more
numerous than they have ever been.
Not alone does the yield per acre
count in the state contest, but purity
and selection the seed, methods of cultivation,
etc.. are of strong scoring
value.
