, Deafness Cannot be Cured
by lecal applications, as they cannot
reach the diseased portion of the ear.
There is only one way to cnre deafness,
and that is by constitutional remedies.
Deafness is caused by an inflamed condition
of the mucuous lining of the Eustachian
Tube. When this tube is inflamed
you have a rumbling sound or
imperfect hearing, and when it is entirely
closed, deafness is the result, and
unless the inflamation can bo taken out
and this tube restored to its normal
condition, hearing will be destroyed
foreyer; nine cases out of ten are caused
by Catarrh, which is nothing but an in- j
flamed condition of the mucous sur- ;
faces.
We will give One Hundred Dollars i
for any case of Deafness (caused by ca- ;
tarrh) that cannot be cured by Hall's
Catarrh Cure. Send for circulars, free.

If your Stomach, Heart, or Kidneys
are weak, try at least, a few doses only
of Dr. Shoop's Restorative. In five or
ten days only, the result will surprise
you. A few cents will cover the cost.
And here is why help comes so quickly.
Dr. Shoop doesn't dnig the Stomach,
nor stimulate the Heart or Kidneys. Dr.
Shoop's Restorative goes directly to the
weak and failing nerves. Each organ
has its own controlling nerve. When
these nerves fail, the depending organs
must of necessity falter. This plain,
yet vital truth, clearly tells why Dr.
Shoop's Restorative is so universally
successful. Its success is leading druggists
everywhere to give it universal
preference. A test will surely tell.

Sunny South School.
To the Kditor of The Dispatch:
Feeling very much elated at our
educational progress, I concluded to
write you a few lines about our Sunny
Houtn scnco:.
Onr trustees, becoming ashamed ol
"thelittlehut we called school-house"
made a great effort to secure a new
building. Their efforts proved successful
and a handsome accademy
42 by 28. These trustees, still bubbling
over with energy for public
good, with the co-operation of the
teacher, raised money for a new library;
planted shade trees and flowers,
put in new seats, new heater and
other needed improvements. Still
pushing forward, these energetio gentlemen,
with assistance of the teacher,
sent pictures and model of theii
hnilHinv tn ?i?t rrrAaMant. rvf
the State Rural School Improvement
Association, and received a prise of
$60. By the time this amount is expended
on our building, we know it
will not be surpassed b y any in the
county.
Again, we are going to invite Miss
Nance to give us a lecture, and to
give the mothers the enthusiasm on
education?the kind that is needed for
trne success in a school. Remember,
"the hand that rocks the cradle is the
hand that rules the world."
We have a new house, new furniture
and will have a new time all
around if the parents will become
aroused to their duty of educating the
children and making of them something
more th$n mere farm drudgers.
State Superintendent of Education
Martin has zealously advocated improvement
of the rural schools. All
honor to his memory! We do not
doubt but that the incoming superintendent
will fill his place admirably
we 1, but we cannot but feel sad in
bidding O. B. Martin farewell. The
rural schools have been vastly improved
under his supervision. At this
we greatly rejoice, but must not stop
here. There arc many other things
to be considered. We must have
good educational system. Money is
never thrown away employing a competent
teacher. The teacher must
receive the support of the community.
We feel that for 1909 a brighter
time has come ii*. our neighborhood
for effective work in the educational
line.
We will free our children from the
"bondage of ignorance."
Rouse up, neighbors, "go thou and
do likewise." Patron.
Married.
On December 24, 1908, at the residence
of the bride's father, Mr. E. C.
Wingard and Miss Lonnie Hall were
marripd hv f\hp Rp.v. R. P. Shumnert.
Following the ceremony a bountiful
dinner was served.
This is just the time of the year when
you are most likely to contract a severe
cold, and you should always have Kennedy's
Laxative Cough Syrup handy,
especially for the children. It tastes
nearly as good as maple sugar. It cures
the cold by gently jnoving the bowels
through its laxative^* principle, and at
the same time it is soothing for throat
irritation, thereby stopping the cough.
