was our pleasure on Saturday to
go through The Jerome hotel in Columbia,
which has recently been enlarged
and remodeled. This popular
hostelry ip under the management of
Mr. James Flanigan^one of the most
popular hotel men in the country. - A
native of dear old Ireland, Mr. Flanigan
is a host within himself. We venture
the assertion that there is not a
more popular hotel manager in the
\ State. His assistants, Messrs. Fred
A J. Brun and L. D. Gates, bookkeeper
and clerk, are both clever gentlemen
' and are popular with the public.
The rooms?more than 126?are
large, well ventilated and convenient,
elegantly furnished with neat and
, .-/* comfortable beds. The halls and parlors
are ferand, -with floors carpeted
with the finest brussel carpets, and
IV1
furnished with handsome and costly
furniture. The spacious dining room
- presents a beautiful appearance, with
striking furniture, spotless linen and
gorgeous wares. The meal3 are unexcelled
and the service the best, all
