Wise, the popular manager of the Sphaler store at Pelion and one of the best citizens in the county, is in town today. Mr. C. M. Carpenter, representing The State Co., was in town Monday in the interest of the Monarch typewriter. Mr. Carpenter is a gentleman of pleasing and charming per sonality and made many friends while here. Mr. J. M. Thompson, an excellent gentleman from New Brookland, was in town Saturday and gave us a pleasant call. Miss Blanche Monts, of the Pilgrim section, spent last week in town with her friend, Miss Beulah Seay. Mr. Job S. Wessinger, president of the Bank of Chapin and one of the progressive merchants of that town, was here on Monday. Our space is very much crowded this week with Christmas ads. and they certainly indicate where is the best place to do your shopping.
