Rawls, which is quite different from the reports published. They say that Rawls came* into the office where Glover was working, and asked him if he had loaded some cars, to which Glover replied that he had not. Rawls asked him why he had not attended to the matter, and Glover answered that he had received no in structions as to loading trie cars. Rawls replied that he had given him the instructions in regard to the loading, and Glover then called him a liar, and stated that he had given no instructions. The parties assert that then Rawls reached in his hip pocket te get a pistol. Glover was standing near a table on which a pistol was tying. He preached back and got the weapon and fired instantly at Rawls the bullet taking effect in the latter's face, causing instant death. It is stated that when the pistol was fired by Glover, Rawls bad his hand on his own pistol. Glover was given a preliminary hearing at Umatilla Tuesday, before j Justice Clark and was held for manslaughter for killing Edward Rawls. Watson of the State department of agriculture, has issued an estimate of the cotton crop in the South for the Southern Association of Commissioners df Agriculture. Hesays: "Our estimate, which is based on telegraphic reports received from all the States save Georgia, whose commissioner is absent from the State, dated Nov. 19, and on the ginners reports of Nov. 14, is 12,541, 089 running bales, excluding linters. This conclusion is reached after due allowance for the weather and other crop conditions for 1908. The crop last year was 13,539,948 bales. Eat all the good food yon like. Quit dieting. Yon don't have to diet to cure dyspepsia. In fact yon can not cure dyspepsia or indigestion that way, but rather yon must add strength to the weak stomach by taking something that will digest the food which the stomach can not digest. Kodol is the only thing known today that will do this, for Kodol is made of natural digestive juices found in a healthy stomach, and it digests all food completely. Kodol is pleasant to take, and is guaranteed to give relief in any case of stomach trouble. Sold by Kanfmami Drug, Co. But what is the use of food when you hate it and can't digest it? Scott's Emulsion of Cod Liver Oil is the food that makes you forget your stomach. SCOTT & BOWNE, 409 Pearl St., New York \ . A Good Reason. Lexington People Can Tell Yon Why It Is So. Doan's Kidney Pills cure the cause of disease, and that is why the cures are always lasting. This remedy strengthens and tones up the kidneys, helping them to drive out of the body the liquid poisons that cause backche, headache and distressing kidney and urinary complaints. Lexington people testify to permanent cures. J. J. Schwartz, living on South Main street, Lexington, S. C., says: "I have been using Doan's Kidney Pills but a short time, but I have received more benefit from them than any other remedy. I suffered from a too frequent action of the kidneys, and my back pained me severely. The secretions were dark in color and contained a sediment and though I U9ed a number of different remedies, they did not prove of benefit. I finally sent to The Kaufmann Drug Co., procured Doan's Kidney Pills, and am pleased to state that they gave me prompt relief." For sale by all dealers. Price 50 cents.
