Siz Prisoners Escape
From The Chaingang.
On Monday morning about 8 o'clock
six prisoners escaped from the chaingang
which was located near Magnolia
school house in the Dutch Fork.
It seems that one of the guards had
stepped off for a short while, leaving
only one man to guard the 26 men.
All of the men made a brake at the
same time. The guard fired three
shots at the fleeing men, bit they
went wild of their mark and the men
went on.
Among the number who escaped
are ?enry Moore, George Baxter and
Abram James, the three who attempted
to assassinate Deputy Sheriff Miller
several weeks ago.
