Th^re were only three eases disposed of in the common plea; court last week. In the case of Nelson against the C. N. & L. Railroad, the jury returned a verdict in favor of Nelson for S400. Messrs. Graham & Sturkie for plaintiff; Lyles & Lyles, E. L. Craig and W. II. Sharpe the defendant. In the case of J. II. Hudson against Joseph Shumpert, an action to gain possession of a certain tract of land on Congaree creek, Judge Sliipp instructed the jury to write a verdict in favor of the plaintiff. Messrs. Efird & Dreher for plaintiff; J. Brooks Wingard for defendant. The last case tried iast week was' that of L. L. Glenn vs. the Western J Union Telegraph Co. This was a mental anguish suit for $2,000 damages, the plaintiff alleging the nondelivery of a telegram. The jury returned a verdict in favor of Glenn for $400. Graham & Sturkie for plaintiff; Messrs. Efird & Dreher, Nelson & Nelson the defendant. The first case taken up Monday was that of Dr. J. J. Bickley against Jacob Koon for a bond to"title of a certain piece of property which Bickley bought from Koon. J. B. Wingard for plaintiff; Albert M. Boozer and Graham & Sturkie for defendant. Verdict in favor of the defendant. Watched Fifteen Years.
